A Safe Stop
By: Scott Mason  -  2/4/2014

A safe stop on your horse relates to how good your horse can back up.One_Rein_Stop_1.jpg

  • Your horse should be able to back with life.
  • Your horse should back slow or fast with little to no pressure on the reins and from your seat.
  • Your horse should be in proper round frame while backing.
  • Your horse should be able to back as far as you want and in circles.

And before all that, they should know the proper one rein stop.

Then you will end up with a proper stop.
